Adapted from a Neil Gaiman book by the director of A Nightmare Before Christmas, Coraline is about a girl who is lured into a parallel world. Everything in the parallel world is better her perantes are nicer, cook better and love her more. The only strange thing is that her parents have buttons instead of eyes, and they want coraline to sacrifice her eyes, too. The atmosphere of Coraline is so nightmarish that 1 cannot recommend it for young children. Adults and adolescents, however, will love its dark imagination and modern revisiting of withces and haunted houses. A strange and beautiful film that is true to Neil Gaiman's creative genius.
