ORAL PRESENTATION : WINDSURFING

Good morning, I'm Marc Guilana I am going to talk about windsurfing today. First, I 'll explain what windsurfing is. After that, I'would like to tell you about the professionals of windsurfing and finally I will explain my own experience as a practitioner of this sport.

Windsurfing is a surface water sport. A windsurf board usually measures from two to four meters long and its powered by the effect of the wind on a sail. The size of the sail depends on your skill. It's a difficult sport. It requires a lot of practise, it's dificult but it's great fun and it's very exciting. If you fall in the water you don't get hurt. The most important thing for practising windsurfing it's not to be afraid.

In windsurfing competitions, there are the following disciplines:
Olympic Windsurfing Class
Formula Windsurfing Class
Slalom
Super X
Speed Racing
Freestyle
Wavesailing

Winsurf became an olympic sport in 1988.

Robbin Naish is the best in the world of windsurf he is amazing and he won a lot of prizes , now he is retired because he is 67 years old.

Now I'm going to explain my experience, I started windsurfing last year in Platja d'Aro. At the beggining I was very scared. I saw a lot of jellyfish and that made me more nervous but with practise I became more confident. This year I continued practising but without a trainer I went on my own. I met a friend called Pau he is a very skillful windsurfer. He has had a lot of practise and he knows a lot. This year we went sailing together. And he taught me some technniques .It was a good experience and now I do many more things and I know very well the winds.
